Kathmandu: The Meteorological Department has issued a weather forecast for today, indicating the likelihood of light to moderate rain across various regions of Nepal.

As of the current weather conditions, most parts of Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Gandaki, and Koshi provinces are experiencing normal rain accompanied by thunderstorms. In other regions, partial rainfall has been reported.

According to Meteorologist Govind Jha, partly to normal showers are expected throughout the country during the afternoon. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Few places in the remaining provinces may also experience similar weather conditions later in the day.

Specifically, reports indicate ongoing rain in Ilam, Jhapa, Morang, and Sunsari in the Koshi province, as well as in the Myagdi area of the Gandaki province and Bardiya area of the Lumbini province for the past three hours.

For tonight, the weather forecast predicts partial to normal rainfall in some areas of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. A few places in the other regions of the country may also experience such conditions.

Meteorologist Jha added that there is a possibility of light rain with thunder and lightning in Kathmandu during the afternoon. The maximum temperature in Kathmandu is expected to range between 29 and 31 degrees Celsius, as reported by the Weather Forecasting Division.
